هذه إصدارتي الثانية من شعر القاسم بن يوسف العجلي، المتوفي نحو سنة (220هـ)، بعد محاولتي الأولى، التي ضمنتها الجزء الأول من كتابي: (من بيوتات الشعر في الجاهلية والإسلام...)... مسلطاً بعض الضوء على اسم الشاعر، ونسبه، وجوانب من سيرته، ديوانه، منتقلاً منها إلى دراسة مضامين شعره وتجلياته، وأبنيته التشكيلية، لغته، وصوره، وموسيقاه، وموقعه من حيث المقطوعة، والقصيدة... مذيلاً إياها بمجموعة من الملاحق، المستهلة بمجموعة الشعري، الذي جمعه أبو بكر الصولي (ت 335هـ)، وضمنه القسم الخاص بأخبار الشعراء المحدثين، من كتاب (الأوراق)، بعد أن رتبته، وشرحتُ بعض مفرداته، وأشرتُ إلي بعض الإختلاف في رواية بعض أبياته، وتخريج نصوصه، من مصادرها الأخرى، المتاحة أمامي، الآن، منتقلاً منه إلي بعض الفهارس الفنية، التي تسهل الإستفادة منه، وفي مقدمتها: فهرسُ الآيات القرآنية الكريمة، فالأحاديث النبوية الشريفة، والمأثورات، فالأمثال، فالقوافي، والأوزان، فالشواهد، مختتماً إياها بثبت المصادر والمراجع، وفهرس المحتويات...
آملاً أن أكون قد خطوتُ بهذا العمل خطوة، أو خطوات، تضع الشاعر، وشعره في مكانتهما الأدبية الجديرة بهما في مكتبة الشعر العباسي، بعامة وشعراء الشيعة في أواخر القرن الثاني، وبدايات القرن الثالث الهجريين بخاصة.
