أطلق الدكتور عدنان ترسيسي على كتابه "بلاد سبأ وحضارات العرب الأولى .. اليمن "العربية السعيدة" صفة كتاب (ثقافة عامة) نظراً لشموله على معلومات متنوعة متعلقة باليمن وهي بلاد سبأ التاريخية المعروفة أيضاً تحت إسم العربية السعيدة.
يحيط الكتاب بحضارة اليمن من الناحية التاريخية والجغرافية على مر العصور، كما وردت في الكتب القديمة والحديثة، ويقصد بها سبأ التي جاء ذكرها في القرآن الكريم "لقد كان لسبأ في مسكنهم آية جنتان عن يمين وشمال كلوا من رزق ربكم واشكروا له بلدة طيبة ورب غفور" [سبأ: 34/15]. لذلك فالكتاب يغطي (اليمن): معين، سبأ، حمير ومنها قتبان وأوسان وحضرموت وسواها من "بلاد اليمان". وهي البلد التي أطلق عليها الإغريق آرابيا فيليكس، ولقبها الرومان ببلاد البخور والعطور والقصور، وعرفها العرب باليمن الخضراء أو بلاد اليمن والخير. وهي بلاد اليمين بالنسبة لموقع بيت الله الحرام.
تأتي أهمية هذا الكتاب من كونه مرجعاً مهماً وأساسياً لكل من يريد البحث في تاريخ اليمن. فالكتاب يحتوي على معلومات عن أعلام اليمن من أئمة وملوك ورؤساء وعلماء وأدباء ورجال دين. كما أنه يفيد في تتبع حركات الإستقلال لليمنيين من الإستعمار البريطاني، ودفاع اليمنيين عن بلادهم في العهد القديم والحديث. كذلك يحتوي الكتاب على عرض جغرافي مصوّر ومطالعات ذات صلة بمواضيع الكتاب وكشف بتسلسل العهود والأحداث وصور ومرفقات لبعض الوثائق المعتمدة وجميعها تؤشر على مكانة اليمن وموقعها الحضاري على مرّ التاريخ.
