هذا جزء لطيف وتعليق طريف، ألفه الحافظ الناقد البارع أبو الخير شمس الدين محمد بن عبد الرحمن السخاوي الشافعي (902هـ) برسم الانتهاء من إقراء كتاب الشفا بتعريف حقوق المصطفى صلى الله عليه وسلم، لعالم المغرب الشهير القاضي عياض بن موسى اليحصبي (ت 544هـ).
وقد جرت عادته أن يصنف ختوماً للكتب التي قام بإقرائها وتدريسها، وكان قد اقرأ كثيراً من كتب الحديث والسيرة وجملة من تصانيفه، لا سيما عند مجاورته بالحرمين الشريفين مكة والمدينة، وأساس تصنيف تلك الختوم هو مجلس ختم الكتاب المقرر إقراؤه.
وكانت مجالس الختم من المجالس العلمية المشهودة، والمحافل العلمية المحمودة، حيث يتناول فيها الحافظ السخاوي بعد الانتهاء من تدريس الكتاب طرفاً من منهج المؤلف في كتابه، ويبين خصائص الكتاب، ومزاياه، ويعدد مناقب مؤلفه، ويسرد أسانيده إليه، وينثر في غضون ذلك إفادات علمية متنوعة، ولم يكن يتخلف عن تلك المجالس كبير أحد، فكان يحضرها الأمراء والأعيان، وتنشد فيها القصائد.
وقد ألف السخاوي هذا الختم المبارك بمكة في رمضان عام 893هـ.
ويعد هذا الختم وثيقة مهمة، وشهادة جليلة، بعلو كعب القاضي عياض، ونفاسة كتابه الشفا، فقد أثنى السخاوي على القاضي عياض وكتابه المذكور ثناء عاطراً، وأورد قصائد ومقطوعات في ذلك، ثم ذكر أسانيده إلى كتاب الشفا.
وبالنظر لأهمية هذا الختم فقد تم الاعتناء بتحقيقه وتلخيصه ذلك في النقاط التالية:
أولاً: قدم للرسالة بدراسة موجزة تناولت بإيجاز ترجمة المؤلف، وموضوع التصنيف في الختم عند المحدثين.
ثانياً: تم نسخ المخطوط وفق القواعد الإملائية الحديثة، وحرص على ضبط نصوصه بالشكل.
ثالثاً: شرح بعض الكلمات الغريبة التي قد يشكل فهمها على بعض القراء.
رابعاً: عرف بمؤلفات القاضي عياض التي أشار إليها المؤلف.
خامساً: ضبط الأشعار التي أوردها المؤلف وتم الإشارة إلى أسماء منشديها، حيث أهمل المؤلف ذكر أسمائهم.
سادساً: عرف برجال الأسانيد التي ذكرها المؤلف إلى كتاب الشفا في آخر هذا الختم.
سابعاً: علق على بعض المواضع التي تحتاج إلى تعليق.
إلى غير ذلك مما يجده القارئ في ثنايا الرسالة.
