يتفق العرب العامة منهم أو الخاصة على نظرية مفادها أن بلاد اليمن هي جذور العرب، ومن خلال دراستنا للتاريخ العربي القديم ولا سيما تاريخ اليمن وجدنا أن الجذور الأولى لسكان اليمن لم تكن في اليمن وإنما كانت في بلاد الرافدين، فهذه البلاد كانت قد حملت اللبنات الأولى للمكون العربي. ومنه انتقل العرب إلى اليمن.
إن الحقيقة الثابتة التي توصّلنا إليها نتيجة مطالعتنا لما سطره المختصون وحرره المؤرخون فيما يخص الأصل الوجودي للعرب هو أن بلاد الرافدين هي محتدر رجالها ومنبع آبائها، ففي هذه البلاد أي بلاد الرافدين ولد "يعرب بن قحطان" أبو العرب العاربة وشعره يوم خرج من بابل مشهور، وفي هذه البلاد ولد إبراهيم والد إسماعيل الذي هو أبو العرب المستعربة.
في بلاد الرافدين أو بلاد بابل كانت قد وجدت البذرة الأولى للعرب وهي العرب البائدة / العاربة، وفي مدينة أور كانت البذرة الثانية للعرب وهي المستعربة، ومن هاتين المدينتين كانت الهجرة الأولى للآباء المؤسسين.
كان من نتائج تلك الهجرة أن استوطن المهاجرون في الجزيرة العربية وفيها أي الجزيرة العربية نشأت وتشكلت القبائل المكونة للأمة العربية المتعارف عليها.
ولغرض بيان هذه الحقيقة التاريخية والموضوعية فقد حررنا هذا الموضوع ليكون بين يدي الخاصة من الباحثين "المؤرخين والنسابين" فضلاً عن العامة حتى يجدوا فيه ضالتهم ويغترفوا منه أرومتهم فقد رأينا أن في هذا الموضوع الذي نسطره تبسيطاً كبيراً لمسألة توضيح العلاقة بين بلاد الرافدين والأمة العربية أو الجذور التأريخية للأمة العربية، وما إذا كان العرب من المستوطنين في بلاد الرافدين أي من المهاجرين له أو أنهم من سكانه الصليين العائدين له.
