إن "العقيدة" في تجلياتها الأولى كانت تسير وفق نموذج تسليمي مباشر حيث كان الوحي وقتئذ واقعاً معاشاً يتفاعل مع الرعيل الأول، وتركزت حينها مسارات التأويل النصي في منطلق النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم وتطبيقه للتشريع، قولاً وعملاً وتقريراً.
كما أن الخلاف العقدي الأول على يد الخوارج نقل العقيدة من طور الإنتماء العام إلى طور الإنتماء الخاص، ومن طور العقيدة كأسس معرفية مسلمة يؤسس عليها العمل وتنبني عليها الحركة، إلى طور الصراع حولها والعمل على إعادة تأسيسها، فانتقلت من حقبتها الأولى المُؤَسِّسة (تمارس التأسيس) إلى تطورها التالي حيث باتت مُؤَسَّسة (يمارس عليها التأسيس).
ولذا كان هذا التغير الوظيفي البنيوي دافعاً لإنجاز هذه الدراسة، التي تصدر عن مركز نماء، والتي رصد فيها المؤلف تحولات "العقيدة" الأولى إلى مراحل "العقائدية" التالية، تمييزاً بينهما في الأسس والوظائف والمناهج والآثار، والتي بدورها أنتجت أنساقاً إستدلالية وتأويلية تعتمل في نصوص القرآن الكريم سعياً لإكساب المقولات الكلامية مشروعية من النص المؤسس، ومن ثم يصير خصمها منازعاً للقرآن الكريم، ويتمترس النسق خلف موافقته "التأويلية" له.
تقصدت الدراسة الولوج إلى عمق القراءة التفسيرية العقائدية للنص القرآني من خلال تشغيل مفهوم "العقائدية" وتتبع تجليات ذلك في تفسير نص القرآني، من خلال زواياه المتعددة، حيث تتناول الدراسة: الدوافع العقائدية لذلك، والمناهج العقائدية المُنتجة للتشغيل، ثم الآثار التفاعلية التي نتجمت عن حاصل الدوافع والمناهج، وبالتالي إختبار مدى قبول النص القرآني لهذه النزعات العقائدية، والكشف عن منبع الإشكال وأسه.
وفي ثنايا الدراسة يسعى المؤلف لإستنطاق سيرورات التأثير والتأثر العقدي مع التفسير القرآني رغبة في تجديد أوجه النظر في البحث الشرعي وتداخلات فروعه وأدواته ومناهجه.
