تمثل "الأخبار" هوية شبكة الاخبار العربية بل وشخصيتها، لذلك وضعت النشاط الإخباري في مقدمة النشاطات البرامجية الأخرى، كون الأخبار التلفزيونية تحتكر زمناً من ذروة المشاهدة التلفزيونية بمضمونها وشكل إخراجها وللدور الإخباري الذي تؤديه هذه القناة عربياً وإقليمياً ودولياً عبر نشراتها وبرامجها الإخبارية، كونها أول قناة إخبارية عربية تبث من خارج الوطن العربي في عام 1997 وتدار من قبل مجموعة من المستثمرين العرب وأصحاب رؤوس الأموال.
ويبين الفصل الأول التلفزيون والخدمة الإخبارية الذي جاء بثلاثة مباحث كان الأول منها خصوصية الأخبار التلفزيونية عبر تطور الخدمة الإخبارية في التلفزيون فضلاً عن تعريف الخبر التلفزيوني وعناصره وأقسام النشرة الإخبارية مع تناول البرامج الإخبارية في المبحث الثاني من الفصل ذاته وأهميتها وعناصرها وجاء المبحث الثالث ليسلط الضوء على الأساليب الفنية (الإخراجية) للبرامج الإخبارية مع عملية جمع الأخبار إلكترونياً.
وتعرض الفصل الثاني إلى الشبكات الفضائية الإخبارية ودورها في التبادل الإخباري، فجرى خلاله إستعراض التبادل الإخباري على المستوى الدولي وتطوره عبر إستخدام الأقمار الصناعية فضلاً عن تسليط الضوء على أهم قنوات الأخبار العالمية في المبحث الأول منه، في حين جاء المبحث الثاني ليسلط الضوء على التبادل الإخباري في المنطقة العربية وتطوره والمراكز الإقليمية لذلك التبادل وفي المبحث الثالث تم التطرق لشبكة الأخبار العربية "نشأة وتطوراً" فضلاً عن أقسامها وأهم برامجها.
وفي الفصل الثالث تم إخضاع نشرات الأخبار وبرامج المسائية خلال مدة الدراسة لتحليل المضمون فتم تبويب البيانات الخاصة في ضوء وحدات التحليل وفئاته مع التعريفات الإجرائية لها.
إما الفصل الرابع فتركز الإهتمام على أساليب (الصياغة والعرض) لنشرات الأخبار وبرنامج المسائية من خلال إستخدام تحليل المضمون.
