رحلت يارا الغريب، من دن أن تخبر حبيبها عن مكان إقامتها الجديد، ظل ربيع النورس يركض في الشارع حتى ساقته قدماه إلى الحديقة في نهاية المجتمع السكني التابع لمصفاة بترول أم النار، ركب القرص الدوّار، وحرّك مقوده بجنون وهو ينادي بصوت عال: "يارااا".
فجأة، هبت رياح قوية أثارت كثبان الرمال المحيطة بالمجمّع السكني، وتشكلت عاصفة كادت تقلع الأشجار، تدفقت غمامة شديدة السواد في الأفق، دوّى صوت الرعد عالياً، صمّ الآذان وخطف البرُق الابصار، تساقطت الأمطار بغزارة، صرخ ربيع النورس بقوة، فَقَدَ وعيه، ووقع مغشياً عليه داخل القرص الذي استمر بالدوران، ثمّ قذفه خارجه بسبب كَشر في قاعدته؛ فانحرف القرص عن مساره، ليتكوم على الأرض، والزبد يخرج من فمه.
سمعت القطّة سونيا صرخة ربيع النورس الذي أنقذها من الموت قبل أيام، تزعمت القطّة سونيا حشداً من القطط، وهرعن إلى الحديقة على إثر الصوت المخيف.
هل من الممكن أن يكون السومريّ قد وفّى بتهديده لهم، لقد توعد ربيع النورس وأصدقائه أن ينزل عليهم لعناته، هل هذه أول اللعنات، أم أن الغمامة السوداء وصلت إلى الإمارات قادمة من الكويت بعد تفجير الجيش العراقي لآبار النفط الكويتية في حرب الخليج الثانية، مما تسبب بتغيرات في الطقس؟...
