إنَّ علم الإسناد من أشرف علوم الشريعة قدراً, وأعظمها أجراً, ذلك لأنه موصول النسب بعلم الحديث الشريف المتعلق بأقوال وأفعال سيد المرسلين, وخاتم النبيين محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم.
واستمر هذا العلم إلى يومنا هذا, يتلقاه الأبناء عن الآباء, والتلاميذ عن الشيوخ, وبقيت الأحاديث النبوية تروى بالإسناد إلى هذه العصور المتأخرة.ولا زال كثير من علماء الأمة الإسلامية يحتفظون بهذه الأسانيد لإبقاء هذه السلسلة المباركة متصلة غير منقطعة. ومن هؤلاء الأعلام الشيخ عبد الغني بن محمد علي الدقر فقد تلقى العلم منذ صغره على كبار علماء دمشق في القرن المنصرم, وقد حصل على الإجازة العامة بسائر العلوم الشرعية من شيوخه الآنف ذكرهم, وبذا صح له رواية كتب الشريعة المطهرة بالإسناد إما سماعاً أو قراءةً أو إجازةً.
