من "نوستوس" إلى "توبوس" وتذكارات الآلوسي تترجم إلى حكايات، أي هذا الذي يتبقى من الزمان، وما يحفظ للأمكنة ملامحها الأولى، تولد الحكايات حين يتفاعل البشر مع أنظمة الأشياء ويؤسسون ما بينهم عوالم تترابط وتتكاثر وتستقل عنهم.
بالنسبة لدوافع الكاتب الدفينة، أرى أن ليس الهدف من حكاياته تشكيل معرفة عن نفسه، ولا المعرفة بالمعنى العام للكلمة، فأهدافه منها تقع دائماَ بين يديه مثلما هي حياته التي عبر بها سنوات السبعين بشجاعة.
بالأحرى إنها تسعى من دون أن تجرّب قبضة قوية، ولا نتائج حاسمة، إلى تسجيل أحداث وجدانية عن شخصه، والتمسك بماض جميل عاشه وعاش فيه أشخاص رائعون، إن نوستوس يستمر في توبوس، بيد أن الوجه الآخر لهذا التمسك هو مقاومة قوى الخراب التي عبثت بمدينته، وخرّبت أنسجتها ذات المقاسات الإنسانيّة وشوّهتها، وما زالت تعمل على تحويل المكان العراقي إلى جحيم.
معاذ الآلوسي معنى بالبشر وليس بالحجر، الدار بساكنيه، والمحل بقاطنيه، والقيّم بحامليها! حسب تعابيره.
