يدور موضوع الكتاب حول مكانة السيدة فاطمة الزهراء (رضي الله عنها) في الإسلام، وتبدأ هذه المكانة بنسبها الشريف، فالأب أشرف المخلوقات وسيدها على الإطلاق محمد رسول الله (صلي الله عليه وسلم) ... والأم خديجة الكبرى بنت خويلد وهي تنحدر من نفس النسب ... فكانت الزهراء صورة فريدة للكمال الإنساني من جانبه النسوي جمعت كل معاني الفضيلة فهي خير بنت لأبيها وخير زوجة وخير أم لأولادها، فكانت كما سماها رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وسلم) سيدة نساء العالمين.
وفي هذا الإطار، توضح مؤلفة الكتاب منزلة فاطمة في كتاب الله والأحاديث الشريفة، وما ورد في كتب الأئمة الأطهار، وكيف كانت سيرتها العطرة في حياة أبيها، من حيث العبادة، والسلوك، والدعوة للإسلام، ومن ثم بعد وفاتها (رضي الله عنها) والتحاقها بأبيها عند الرفيق الأعلى، وأقوال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وسلم) في أحوال فاطمة في الدار الآخرة.
أيضا يضم الكتاب متفرقات أخرى لها علاقة بالبتول منها: "حديث أزوجك فاطمة على خمس الأرض"، وحديث "مستحق الخمس من انتسب إلى هاشم بالأبوة دون الأمومة"، و "حكمة الخمس"، و "حديث الكساء" .. وغيرها...
