من ضمن أهداف معهد النفط العربي للتدريب القيام بالبحوث والدراسات المتعلقة باأساليب الحديثة في تنظيم الصناعة النفطية وكذلك تطوير قدرات وخبرات الكوادر النفطية والتي تتم في قيام المعهد سنوياً بعرض أكثر من 200 برنامج تدريبي وتطويري وورش عمل المختلف الاختصاصات (الهندسة، الفنية، الاقتصادية، الإدارية المالية البيئية المعلوماتية المخزنية القانونية) ذات الصلة بنشاط القطاع النفطي والتي تهدف إلى مواكبة المتغيرات والتطويرات المتسارعة في العلوم والتكنولوجيا والتقنيات الحديثة والبحوث. من هذا المسعة تأتي مساهمة المعهد بإصدار هذا الكتاب الذي يبحث في مواصفة الأيزو 2010:29001 في إصدارها الثالث حيث يعد هذا الكتاب دليلاً يمكن أن تسترشد به المؤسسات والشركات النفطية التي ترغب في تطبق هذه المواصفة وإعداد نظام لإدارة الجودة بموجبها. إن إعداد وتوثيق نظام إدارة الجودة بوجب متطلبات هذه المواصفة يعتبر الخطوة الأولى للحصول على شهادة المطابقة التي تسعة أية مؤسسة أو شكرة للحصول عليها لما لذلك من ميزات وفوائد تنظيمية تساعد على خفض الكلفة وزيادة الإنتاجية ورفع كفاءة الأداء إضافة للفوائد الأخرى المتمثلة في كسب ثقة الزبائن والمتعاملين والموردين معها.
