يبحث في موضوع العلاقات الخليجية - الأميركية، ويجمع بين دفتيّه عشرة أوراقٍ بحثية موزعة في ثلاثة أقسام، قُدّمت في الدورة الخامسة لمنتدى دراسات الخليج والجزيرة العربية المنعقد بالدوحة (1-2 كانون الأول/ ديسمبر 2018).
يقدم القسم الأول قراءة في خلفية العلاقات الخليجية - الأميركية وتحدّياتها، ويضمّ ثلاثة فصولٍ تبحث في مواضيع ذات صلة بأسباب الاهتمام الأميركي في منطقة الخليج، وتكشف عن جوانبَ مختلفة من تاريخ انخراطها فيها. يأتي القسم الثاني من الكتاب في أربعة فصولٍ تدرس العلاقات الخليجية - الأميركية في ظلّ إدارة الرئيس دونالد ترامب، وتشمل دراسات حالة للعلاقات الثنائية بالولايات المتحدّة الأميركية (المملكة العربية السعودية وقطر)، إضافة إلى البحث في الموقف الأميركي من الأزمة الخليجية والأنماط الجديدة للعلاقات الخليجية - الأميركية.
أمّا القسم الثالث والأخير الذي يحتوي على ثلاثة فصولٍ، فيُعنى بدراسة الهواجس الأمنية والعسكرية والاقتصادية في العلاقات الخليجية - الأميركية.
