يستأنف عامر طهبوب في روايته الجديدة (عائدة إلى أثينا) إقتراحه الروائيّ الرائد في (أوراق هارون)، الذي وحّد بين المتخيّل والتوثيق الروائيّ.
عاد مرّةً أخرى إلى نكبة 1948 المفتوحة على الشتات، استذكر تفاصيل الأوجاع ووجوه الوطن الجميل الذي كان، وواجه مخيّمات اللجوء ومتاهة المنفى ببطولة البقاء.
أقام طهبوب منظوره الروائيّ على ذاكرة وطنيّة مقاتلة جامعة، تصل بين الأجداد والأحفاد، وتمنع عن التجربة الفلسطينيّة النسيان، وتؤكد أنّ هويّة الفلسطينيّ من ذاكرته، وأنّ ذاكرته مزيج من رعب وكفاح وأمل، خلق اجتهاده الروائيّ ذاكرة - ملحمة، وحّدت الزمن الفلسطينيّ في إتّجاهاته المتناثرة.
سرد طهبوب أقدار لاجئ أقرب إلى النشيد، يعيش تجربته ويتعلّم منها، ويخاطب ماضيه بلغة المستقبلِ.
انتهى إلى روايةٍ جديدة تشتقّ الفلسطينيّ، الّذي يحسن الوقوف، من عنفٍ التجربة والقدرة على التعلم والإحتفاء بكرامة الإنسان، مزج بين الوطن والألم، ولم يقع في أدب الدموع الّذي يتلاشى سريعاً، وعطف الحاضر على الماضي، ولم يقع في الأدب التحريضيّ الّذي يكتب عن فلسطينيّ مجهول.
ارتكن طهبوب إلى الجديد: حاول رواياتٍ سابقة وأضاف إليها، وساجل روايات راهنة وطرح عليها أسئلة مفيدة، أكد في الحالين أنّ في الرواية الفلسطينيّة تاريخاً مختلفاً يعلّم المؤرّخين قبل أن يتعلم منهم؛ وعلى خلاف أدب صهيونيّ اعتاش طويلاً على الرماد والدموع والبطولات المستعارة، جاء طهبوب برواية تستدعي الفرح وتحتفي بالحياة وتحتفي بفلسطينيّين تعترف بهم الحياة وهم يدافعون عنها، وأضاف، وهو يقرأ صفحات الوقائع الفلسطينيّة، إقتراحاً روائيّاً إلى ما جاء به جبرا إبراهيم جبرا في زمن مختلف، ومنظوراً خصيباً يوسّع أفق الرواية الفلسطينيّة ويدفع إلى قراءةٍ مغايرةٍ لتاريخ محاصرٍ لا يكفّ عن التجدّد.
