إنَّ العلاقات بين الدين والسياسة معقِّدة وسياقية؛ فالإحياء الإسلامي أو الصحوة الإسلامية الحالية ليست مجرد وسيلة للرجوع إلى ماضٍ حنينيٍّ، وإنمَّا أيضاً وسيلة للتأقلم – بطريقة أو بأخرى - مع الحاضر والمستقبل.
وبهذه الطريقة، سيكون من السذاجة اعتبار الإسلامويَّة مجرد جزء من "مخطط أمريكي - سعودي" لترسيخ حُكم برجوازية أصلانيَّة، ولكنها تابعة، أو اعتبار الإسلامويَّة مجرد صرخة حرب للجماهير المُضطهدة، والمستغّلة في ثورتها ضد الإستبداد الداخلي والهيمنة الأجنبية.
