تزداد الصلات بين الشعوب يوماً بعد يوم نتيجة للتقدم المذهل في وسائل المواصلات ووسائل الإتصال الفكري الحديثة والتي تعمل على ربط شعوب الدول المختلفة بأوثق الروابط الإنسانية، وتعمق لديهم الإحساس بوحدة المصير العالمي، وتخلق بينهم رأي عام عالمي موحد يبغض الحرب والدمار وينشد الأمن والسلام والرخاء.
فالإنسان الذي لا يستطيع العيش في عزلة، كون الأسرة، ثم القبيلة، ثم الأمة والدولة، ثم شعر أن حاجته الأساسية وأن مستقبله على هذه الأرض يتطلبان من جهة، وضع حد للخلاف الذي يؤدي إلى الصدام بين الدول تماماً كما يؤدي للصدام بين الأفراد، ومزيداً من التعاون في المجالات الحياتية المختلفة من جهة أخرى.
فالعالم مجموعة وحدات متكاملة لا بد من تعاونها، ولا تستطيع دولة مهما اتسعت إمكاناتها واستقرت أوضاعها أن تدعي الإكتفاء الذاتي، وسوء العلاقات بين دولتين له مضاعفات كثيرة لا على مصالحها فحسب بل وعلى مصالح مجموعة من الدول الأخرى، وقد يؤدي حي يكون النزاع بين دولتين كبيرتين على مضاعفات تؤثر في الإنسانية جميعها.
والهدف من دراسة مادة المنظمات الدولية هو التعرف المنظمات الدولية وأهدافها والأحكام العامة للمنظمات الدولية ومن ثم التأكيد على دراسة منظمة الأمم المتحدة وأهدافها وأجهزتها ومنظمات أخرى إقليمية ودولية.
وعلى تحقيق ما سبق قد تم تقسيم هذا الكتاب إلى فصول يتناول الفصل الأول التعريف بالقانون الدولي والمنظمات الدولية وأهداف المنظمات الدولية وعناصرها الشخصية القانونية للمنظمات الدولية وأنواع المنظمات الدولية، بينما يركز الفصل الثاني على التطور التاريخي للمنظمات الدولية ونذكر بهذا الخصوص أول منظمة دولية عالمية وهي عصبة الأمم، أما الفصل الثالث فيتناول بالشرح المنظمات الدولية العالمية وأهمها منظمة الأمم المتحدة، الفصل الرابع فقد تم التأكيد فيه على المنظمات الإقليمية وخصوصاً جامعة الدول العربية والفصل الخامس تناول البحث في مجلس التعاون الخليجي.
