هذا الكتاب من أوضح الكتب التي بحثت دلالة الأفعال والنبوية على الأحكام وضعه الدكتور محمد العروسي عبد القادر / الأستاذ المشارك بجامعة أم القرى في مكة المكرمة للمتخصصين، ولغيرهم من المؤمنين لأنه يصف ويبيّن فعله صلي الله عليه وسلم. وفعله منهج الله وشرعه لهذه الأمة، فمن عرف هذا النوع من السنن عرف مرتبته من الأدلة، وكيفية الإستدلال به. ثم أن هذا الكتاب جزء من مسيرة خير البرية سيدنا محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم، وأفعاله وحياً وتشريعاً، وبيان لأخلاقه صلى الله عليه وسلم التي قال عنها تبارك وتعالى: "وإنك لعلى خلقٍ عظيم".
وأفعال الرسول هي من مسائل أصول الفقه نهج خلالها المؤلف ما يعرف بـ "تخصيص العام بالسبب" في استقلالية البحث، وتحري نسبة الأقوال إلى قائليها، فهو لم يورد مثالاً لأفعاله صلى الله عليه وسلم إلا والدلالة فيه مسبوقة بأقواله، وكل شاهد في هذا الكتاب إنما هو مستخرج من كتاب الله سبحانه وسنته صلى الله عليه وسلم الفعلية، بعيداً عن مناقشات أصحاب الأقوال المختلفة في حكم الفعل، كالقائلين بوجوب الفعل، والقائلين بسنيته، والقائلين بالتوقف وغيرها، بل ساق أفعاله التي رواها أهل الصحاح والسنن والسير كشواهد لما قد يتقرر من قاعدة تارة، ودليلاً لما استبان من أصل أخرى، مع ذكر المثال من فعله صلى الله عليه وسلم والمنسوب إلى مصدره للتأكيد على دلالة الفعل ...
يتوزع الكتاب على ثلاثة أبواب تنطوي على فصول ومباحث عديدة جاء الباب الأول بعنوان: سنته صلى الله عليه وسلم الفعلية، بينما تناول الباب الثاني: الفعل: دلالاته، وإفادته العموم، وخصص الباب الثالث لـ: أنواع أفعاله صلى الله عليه وسلم وحكمها.
