هذا الكتاب: يتحدث عن التوسع الفينيقي في البحر الأبيض المتوسط حيث يبدأ بمقدمة جغرافية يذكر فيها التكوين الأرضي لساحل المتوسط الشرقي و المناخ و الثروة النباتية و الفينيقيون في الشرق و الكتابة الفينيقية, ثم يذكر عوامل التوسع الفينيقي في البحر المتوسط و منها العوامل السياسية و الاقتصادية و الاجتماعية. و بعدها ينتقل الى التوسع الفينيقي في غربي المتوسط و يذكر فيه نشوء البحرية الفينيقية و مراحل التوسع, و بعدها ينتقل الى المستوطنات الفينيقية في شمال الحوض الغربي المتوسط و المستوطنات في الغرب القديم, و أخيراً يتحدث عن مستوطنة قرطاجة تاريخ النشوء و النشاط الاقتصادي.
