هذا هو كتاب العدد، طريف في بابه، حلو في منهاجه، غني في مادته، تقرأ خبراً في موضوع ويفجؤك خبر تالٍ في موضوع آخر، فمن قصة إلى عبرة إلى فائدة فقهية، بستان فسيح الأرجاء، تنتقَّل فيه بين ورود وأزاهير ثلاثية ورباعية وخماسية و... متنوعة الأشكال، مختلفة الألوان ينتظمها سرٌّ خفي، وسلك بديع، هو العدد.
للعدد خاصية مميزة، وسراً خفياً قد لا ندري كنهه، والله سبحانه وتعالى ذكره في كتابه الكريم جلياً واضحاً في أكثر من آية فقال عز وجل: (ويحمل عرش ربك فوقهم يومئذٍ ثمانية)، فقد ضمن الله تعالى كتابه الكريم أعداداً متنوعة كثيرة، لا يستطيع كشف إعجازها وأسرارها إلا من كان ماهراً بالقرآن، مكباً على تلاوته ودراسته. أما في السنة فإن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم كان كثير الذكر للأعداد، وهو الذي لا ينطق عن الهوى، كما ذكر أعداداً محددة مشيراً الى أهميتها والتباين في رقمها كقوله: معقبات لا يخيب قائلهن- أو فاعلهن- دبر كل صلاة مكتوبة: ثلاث وثلاثون تسبيحة، وثلاث وثلاثون تحميدة، وأربع وثلاثون تكبيرة.
فيعد هذا الكتاب في العدد، طريف في بابه، حلو في منهاجه، غني في مادته، يحتوي على العديد من القصص والعبر، والفوائد الفقهية، فهو بستان فسيح الأرجاء، تتنقل فيه بين ورود وأزاهير ثلاثية ورباعية وخماسية متنوعة الأشكال، مختلفة الألوان ينتظمها سر خفي، وسلك بديع، هو العدد.
