تحت عنوان "عشرون الف فعل وفعل" يقدم جوزيف ديشي وسام عمار "دراسة علمية ومعجم تصريف شامل" للغة العربية، تقسم الدراسة إلى قسمين جاء القسم الأول في مبادىء تصنيف الأفعال العربية ونمذجذتها وقواعد تصريفها يتبع فيه المؤلفان منهجهما المنبثق عن نظرية المجموعات الرياضية لتصنيف الفعال، بالإضافة إلى المفاهيم اللغوية التي تشكل أساسه ويتطرقان إلى مفهوم الجذر بدلاً من مفهوم الفعل الذي تستعمله القواعد النحوية التقليدية، مع الإشارة إلى أهمية مفهوم الجذور اللفظية من منظور هذا الكتاب، ومسائل صرفية وإملائية وثيقة الصلة ببنية الكتاب وأهدافه. أما القسم الثاني من الكتاب فخصص لتصريف الفعال العربية والصحيح والمعتل وأقسامهما) وعددها (43) نموذجاً.
وبالإستناد إلى ما تقدم ذكره، يتوجه هذا الكتاب بصفة عامة، إلى ثلاثة أنواع من الجمهور، أولهما: يمتلك معرفة جيدة باللغة العربية، ولكنه قد يواجه صعوبات في تصريف هذا الفعل أو ذاك. والنوع الثاني يتكون من تلاميذ أو طلاب يحتاجون إلى تعميق معارفهم التحليلية في اللغة العربية. أما النوع الثالث فيضم أساتذة اللغة العربية والمتخصصين فيها، الذين سوف يجدون فيه مقاربة جديدة لتصنيف الأفعال العربية باعتبار تصريفها، بالإضافة إلى كمية كبيرة من المعارف التفصيلية. وعلى هذا، يمكن اعتبار هذا الكتاب تغطية شبه كاملة لمختلف صعوبات التصريف في اللغة العربية.
