لست أدري، هل هذا كتاب عن "محمد" أو هو كتاب لــ "محمد" عليه صلاة الله وسلامه؟ فلقد بدأت التفكير في الكتاب معتزماً أن أتتبع أحاديث "الرسول ومواقفه، ,أ×تار منها ما يكون الصورة التي أريدها، صورة "محمد" الإنسان دون أن أقحم نفسي على هذه المختارات مدركاً أن مجرد تنسيقها، ووضع كل حديث في مكانه من الصورة، سيكون فصل الخطاب، يبد أني لم أكد أبدأ، حتى وجدت أحاديث "الرسول" عليه السلام ومواقفه، تعكس على فكرة خبئها النفيس، وحكمتها المستسرة، وهكذا سمحت لنفسي أن أقفو أثرها، وأستنبط منها معالم النموذج الذي يشكل على نحو جليل، إنسانيات "محمد" الباهرة، وسمحت لنفسي كذلك أن أسطر ما أفاءته على هذه الأحاديث والمواقف من فهم ومعرفة، ولقد آثرت الاقتصار في الاستشهاد، على أحاديث الرسول وتصرفاته، لأنها أدل على إنسانية صاحبها، ولأنها تصور - تماماً - تلقائية العمل والنزوع لديه.
أجل.. نرى الإنسان - أبهى، وأنقى، وأسمى ما يكون الإنسان، فلنقترب في تهلل.. ولنقرأ في أناة، واعلموا يا من تطالعون الآن هذا الكتاب - أنكم تعيشون لحظات مترعة بغبطة الحياة، مع إنسان ورسول، رفع الله به قدر الحياة.
