يرصد لنا الكاتب حياة بطلة روايته كفتاة رقيقة المشاعر وذات اختيارات روامانسية راقية من خلال هذا المونولوج الداخلى : (مددت يدى يسارا وفتحت الراديو على البرنامج الموسيقى . انسابت الموسيقى الهادئة فى أجواء الغرفة وكانت ريح خفيفة ترفرف فى شبابيكها وعصافير الصباح تغرد خلقها ما أجمل هذه الاصوات الرقيقة عندما يسمعها الانسان ما بين نومه ويقطته والأجمل هو أن تبقى هكذا أطول فترة ممكنة) لكن لا تمر إلا دقائق قليلة على هذا الجو الرومانسى إلا وتجد جيجى بطلة الرواية نفسها فى واقع صادم وأليم عندما تكتشف أن أباها تحرش جنسيا بلبلى اختها غير الشقيقة محاولا اغتصابها ( صرخة اختى المدوية افسدت الرقاد الهنى والحلام اللذيذة والموسيقى الممتزجة بتغاريد عصافير الصباح ) ستتحول جيجي – من الان فصاعدا – من فتاة رومانسية رقيقة المشاعر الى فتاة بشعة جاحدة عاقة لابويها وعديمة افحساس تجاه من يكبرونها سنا حتى ولو كانوا فى الثمانين مثل جدها العاجز المريض ومن فتاة جبانة تقريبا ( تخشى دخل المطبخ حتى لا تلسع من حلة ساخنة ) الى فتاة جريئة متحدية تصطدم بابيها صداما دومويا عنيفا كاد يشوه وجهها ويودى بحياته كما تصطدم مع لواء شرطة أمن الدولة صداما غير دموى لكنه لا يخلو من جرأه وقحة غير عابئة بكونه حماها المرتقب .
