مسألة وحدة الوجود من المسائل الدقيقة المهمة، المتعلقة بأصول الإعتقاد، وقد تناولها بالبحث طوائف من علماء التوحيد والصوفية وأصحاب النظر، وذهب كلٌ إلى وجهه معينة ارتآها وانحاز إليها.
وهذه رسالة نادرة تنشر في حدود علمنا لأول مرَة، ألفها السيَد الشريف الجرحاني، العالم المتحقق المعروف، عبَر فيها عما يريد أهل وحدة الوجود على وفق مرادهم واصطلاحهم، غيَر ملتفتٍ إلى من قال إنَ فهم مرادهم وتصوَره لا يتمَ إلا بالكشف، أو أنه لا يمكن الكلام على مرادهم لأن لهم اصطلاحات خاصة. وهذا المسلك الذي سلكه السيد الشريف لائق بعلماء الكلام والأصوليين وأهل الحكمة الفائقة، الذين لا يبنون تصوَراً ولا يبدون رأياً إلا بعد التمحيص والبحث والتثبت.
وقد بذل الشارح جهداً في بيان عبارات المؤلف، وتقريب معناها إلى القارئ، ونقل من عبارات القائلين بوحدة الوجود ما يدلَ على ما ينقله عنهم المؤلف، وأتبعها بشرح ملائم لها من أصحابها، محاولاً أحياناً مناقشة دعاويهم مناقشة موجزة، بتحليل كلامهم، وبيان مآلاته، دون الإستفاضة في التفصيل، جاعلاً من هذا الشرح خطوة على طريق البحث الموسَع في هذه المسألة، مسألة وحدة الوجود.
