يورخ الكتاب لاعمال الناقد الفنى سمير فريد واعتراف اته التى يفجرها فيقول انا مسئول عن تسيس السينما ويقصد بذلك انه اعطى قيمة لاعمال اكبر من قيمتها الحقيقية .. وفن النقد لم يكن هناك فى الستنيات .. وكان الانطباع السائد عن النقاد هو انهم مجرد كتاب يكتبون انطباعات عابرة عن الاعمال الفنية ولم يكن لفكرة النقد السينمائى المعتمد على منهج مكان فى الصحافه العادية وقد اختار سمير فريد الصحافة تأثيرا بشخصيات هامة فى حياته كانت تكتب فى الصحافة بشكل منتظم اختيار اوفعه بين سطوة الموسسات السياسية الكبيرة وبين مزاج لم يتعود على فكرة نقد الافلام ولكنه دخل اللعبة بقدمية حتى وضع بين دائرة اشد نقاد السينما عليها .
