إدماج أصول التأويل في أصول الفقه بمعنى علم المسائل الفرعية حطّ علم التأويل عن محله من ثلاثة وجوه: الأول: إنه كان حريّاً بأن يعتبر علماً مستقلاً، ويحسب له حساب مستقل؛ والثاني: إنه كان في معظمه علم التفسير لكونه أصولاً لفهم القرآن الكريم، وإذ جعل من علم الفروع لم يبالغ في تنقيحه، حتى يصير لعلم التأويل كالمعيار والميزان، مثل علم النحو والعروض.
والثالث: أن القرآن الكريم ليس مقصوراً على الفروع، بل معظمه يتناول العقائد وبواطن الأخلاق، وإذا اندمجت أصول التأويل في أصول الفقه صارت مقصورة عليه.
وإذاً، فلا بد من تأصيل علم التفسير وتقعيده كعلم عظيم مستقل، ولا بد من وضع أسسه وضوابطه بكل حرص وعناية، وبكل دقة وإهتمام؛ وإنطلاقاً من هذه الأمنية الغالية والعارمة، التي تضطرب في أحشاء الكاتب، وتضطرب في أحشاء كل مسلم واعٍ، وُضع هذا الكتاب.
