الأسعد بن مماتي (544 - 606 هـ = 1149 - 1209 م)
أسعد (أبو المكارم) بن مهذب (الملقب بالخطير أبي سعيد) بن مينا بن زكريا، ابن مماتي: وزير أديب. كان ناظر الدواوين في الديار المصرية. مولده بمصر ووفاته بحلب. وكان نصرانيا، فأسلم هو وجماعته في ابتداء الدولة الصلاحية. قال القفطي: من أقباط مصر في عصرنا، وكان جده جوهريا، يصبغ البلور صبغة الياقوت فلا يعرفه إلا الخبير بالجواهر. له (قوانين الدواوين - ط) و (نظم سيرة السلطان صلاح الدين) و (نظم كليلة ودمنة) و (ديوان شعر) و (الفاشوش في أحكام قراقوش - ط) وهو ينسب إلى السيوطي، خطأ، و (لطائف الذخيرة وطرائف الجزيرة - خ) [ثم طُبع] استخلصه من ذخيرة ابن بسام، في خزانة ولي الدين باستنبول، الرقم 2636 .
