للعلامة والفقيه والمحقق عبد الله بن عبد الرحمن بافضل الحضرمي (850 – 918 ه) كتابٌ طبَّقَ الآفاق هو «المختصر الكبير» الذي يعرف بـ«المقدمة الحضرمية». وقد صنف العلامة هذا «المختصر الصغير» في العبادات فحسب.
قال في التعريف بكتابه: (هذا مختصر فيما لا بد لكل مسلم من معرفته أو معرفة مثله؛ من فروض الطهارة والصلاة وغيرهما. فيجب تعلمه وتعليمه ممن يحتاج إليه من الرجال والنساء، والصغار والكبار، والأحرار والعبيد).
