لم يعرف كتاب في مختصرات الفقه الشافعي، خُدِم مثل هذا الكتاب.. بكثرة الشروح والحواشي المطبوعة والمخطوطة. وهو كتاب في ربع العبادات، ومن أهم المختصرات في فقه السادة الشافعية. فلا تكاد تجد مكاناً من أماكن الشافعية- في اليمن أو الشام أو الحجاز أو مصر أو غيرها.. إلا وعليه المعوّل أو على شروحه وحواشيه.
وقد حاولنا في طبعتنا هذه.. أن نضبط النص كما يجب بالرجوع إلى عدد من النسخ الخطية، وكذلك المطبوعة قديماً من هذا الكتاب. ومما امتازت به طبعة دار المنهاج وانفردت به عن سواها، أنها أضافت للكتاب تتمة المتن الذي هو من زيادة المؤلف نفسه، وهي تطبع لأول مرة، وهي من (البيع) إلى (الهبة). إضافةً إلى زيادة العلامة ابن حجر المكي، وهي أيضاً تطبع لأول مرة، وهي من (الهبة) إلى (الفرائض).كما تمَّ الاستئناس بشكل بعض الكلمات المستفادة من حاشيتي العلامة الكردي والترمسي رحمهما الله، وهما حاشيتان في غاية النفاسة العلمية، في شرح وبيان معاني «المقدمة الحضرمية».
وإتماماً للفائدة فقد عنيت الدار بضبط النصّ بالشكل الكامل، وبترجمةٍ موسعة للمؤلف، فجاء يتهادى بين بردي التحقيق والأناقة.
