ومن هنا، جاء هذا الكتاب الذي بسطنا فيه موضوعات في الكتابة الوظيفية والكتابة الإبداعية وفي مجالات التعبير، وهي موضوعات كفيلة أن تزود الطالب بالمهارات الضرورية والقدرات الأساسية.
ويقع هذا الكتاب في عدة فصول، خصّ أولها باللغة والفكر، وتناول الثاني الكتابة والتعبير من شتى الجوانب، وتضمن الفصل الثالث القصة وعناصرها وأنواعها، ودار الفصل الرابع حول المسرحية ونشأتها، وخصائصها المميزة لها، أما الفصل الخامس فلقد عرض للمقالة ونشأتها وأنواعها، وجعل الفصل السادس للبحث وسماته ومراحل إجرائه والفصل السابع للرسائل وأنواعها وكيفية كتابتها.
واستأثر الفصل الثامن بالكتابة الوظيفية وألوانها وخصائصها، أما الفصل التاسع فلقد تضمن فن الإلقاء ومجالاته وأنواعه، وعرض الفصل العاشر للمشكلات اللغوية والنحوية والإملائية والأخطاء في الترقيم.
