هذا الكتاب يعالج فيه المؤلف قضية من أهم القضايا الإسلامية وهى إقامة العلاقات الإيجابية بين طوائف الأمة.. حتى يتوحد كيانها، وتقوى دعائمها، وتقوم أسسها على أواصر "التكافل الإجتماعى"، وفى أسلوب شائق ودقة علمية، وشعور إسلامى صادق، ووعى اجتماعى ناضج عرض المؤلف أبعاد هذا الموضوع واضعاً نصب عينيه مصلحة الأمة، والبحث عن السبيل الأقوم لإصلاحها.. فى ضوء الكتاب والسنة النبوية الشريفة.
يقول فضيلته فى إحدى نتائج هذه الدراسة المستفيضة القيمة "إن المحور الذى تدور عليه حركة التجدد ونمو الحياة فى المنهج الإسلامى للتكافل الاجتماعى هو ترقية البشرية كلها، ودفعها إلى الانطلاق وإلى الخلق والابداع، وفى أثناء الطريق إلى ذلك يعطف الإسلام على آلام الطبقات الضعيفة وقيودها ليحطم هذه القيود ويزيل تلك الآلام حيث أنه لا يستهين بالآم البشر ولكنه لا يستخدم الحقد الطبقى لإزالتها، إذ يرى فى تشريعاته أن الحقد نفسه قيد يحول دون انطلاق البشرية إلى آفاق أعلى ومستويات أرقى، وقد شرع الإسلام لتحقيق التكافل الاجتماعى والآداب النفسية والأخلاق العملية التى طلب من المسلمين التحلى بها، والتمسك بأصولها امتثالا وتحقيقا لقول الرسول (صلى الله عليه وسلم): "إنما بعثت لأتمم مكارم الأخلاق". والعالم كله فى هذا العصر- ونحن المسلمين خاصة- فى أشد الحاجة إلى شرعية الإسلام، وإلى التكافل الإجتماعى الذى رسمه نبى الإسلام عليه الصلاة والسلام.
