إن من النعم الإلهية والعطايا الربانية التي أكرم الله تعالى بها هذه الأمة المحمدية أن ألف بين قلوبهم, وجعلهم إخواناً على اختلاف ألوانهم وأنسابهم وأمكنتهم, كما قال عليه السلام: المسلم أخو المسلم. ولكن الذي عليه أغلب المسلمين اليوم من تباعد وتباغض, وتنافر, وما ذاك إلا لعدم فهمهم آداب هذا الدين, وبعدهم عن تعاليمه. فلكم حبب ديننا الحنيف في الصحبة والمودة, ولكم أعد الله لأولئك المتحابين في الله من الأجر والثواب. وإن لهذه لمحبة وذاك الإخاء آداب وحقوق يجب على كل مكلف أن يعرفها. وهذا الكتاب يبين هذه الآداب وهذه الحقوق, بطرق سهلة وأدلة وحجج قوية, للرفع من همم المقصرين في هذا المجال. بما فيه من مواعظ وقصص عن أولئك الأكارم رضي لله عنهم أجمعين. وكان من أهم ما تناوله الكتاب: مفهوم الصحبة, ذكر شيء من فضل الصحبة في الله تعالى, حقوق الصحبة, آداب القوم رضي الله تعالى عنهم.
