الصلاة هي الركن الثاني في الإسلام، وهي عماد الدين، لأنها تعني الصلة بين المسلم وربه. والمسلم حين يؤدي الصلاة يقف أمام الله عز وجل ثم يكبّّر ويرفع يديه كأنه كان يلقي بهموم الدنيا وتعبه خلف ظهره، فهو يجد في الصلاة الراحة والسكينة والطمأنينة. والصلاة تنوٍّّر القلب، وتريح البدن، وكان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم إذا أتعبه أمر أسرع إلى الصلاة، قائلاً للصحابي الجليل بلال بن رباح رضي الله تعالى عنه "أرحنا بها يا بلال". وفي هذا الكتاب من سلسلة "أركان الإسلام" شرح مفصل عن هذا الركن الثاني موجه إلى الناشئة وهدفه تعليمهم الأسس السليمة لهذا الركن، بدءاً من الوضوء وانتهاءً بالدعاء لله تعالى، مروراً بشروط صحة الصلاة، وواجبات الصلاة. كل هذا قد جاء مبيناً بأسلوب بسيط سهل مدعم بالآيات القرآنية الشريفة والأحاديث النبوية المؤكدة.
لكل بناء أساس، وأساس الإسلام أركانه، فلا يستقيم إسلام الإنسان إلا بإقامة أركانه، فهي العروة الوثقى التي لا انفصام لها، وهي عمود الإسلام، وعليها يبني المجتمع بناء قوياً صحيحاً، كما أن فيها الطهارة من الذنوب والآثام؛ حتى يعود المرء كيوم ولدته أمه، وفيها شطر الصبر.
قصارى القول؛ نحن نجد في القيام بهذه الأركان سعادة الدنيا والآخرة.
