يصدر الجزء الثاني من سلسلة الكتب "الاقتصاد العربي بين الماضي والمستقبل" ليشكل مع الجزء الأول والأجزاء التي ستتلوهما استعراضاً عريضاً لأفكار مواكبة للتجارب الواقعية، في الفترات المتلاحقة منذ بروزها فكرة، وصولاً إلى وضعها موضع التنفيذ، وتأملاً من ثم بنتائجها وعواقبها، من خلال الالتزام بتطبيق الأدوات العلمية التحليلية، والانعتاق من الالتزام المسبق برؤية جانب واحد من الحجة، وجانب واحد من التجربة، وجانب واحد من النتيجة.
وهذا الجزء الذي ينظر في تطور الاقتصاد العربي من ناحية الإنجازات التي حصلت والأخطاء الممكن أن تتواجد، يحتوي على خمسة فصول -الأول نظرة شاملة للأوضاع الاقتصادية العربية-، ويشتمل على سبعة دراسات، والثاني -التعاون الاقتصادي العربي ومجالات تنظيمه وتفعيله- ويضم عشرة دراسات ومواضيع، والثالث -القمم الاقتصادية العربية- ويحتوي على ثلاثة عناوين، أما الرابع -التطلع إلى المستقبل- فإنه يحتوي على سبعة مواضيع. ويشتمل هذا الكتاب على فصل خامس تحت عنوان "الأحداث والأهداف"، وهو يتناول سلسلة من المقالات سبق ونشر معظمها في مجلة "الاقتصاد اللبناني والعربي" تحت ذات العنوان وهي تتناول توضيحاً لأحداث جرت أو مبادرات حصلت وتتفاوت أزمنتها خلال ثلاثة عقود أو أكثر من الزمن مثلما تتعدد اهتماماتها ومضامينها.
