استهوتني كتابةُ القصّة دون أن أشعر بها، فقد أخذَ الشعرُ منّي كلَّ مساحات النشأة، لكنَّ كتابة القصّة كانت كالشعر لي؛ تغيبُ عنّي طويلاً ثمّ تعودُ، هكذا كان الشعرُ معي؛ يغيبُ طويلاً ثمّ يعودُ لي.
إنّ كتابةَ القصّة لا يُتاحُ لي في كلِّ وقت، فالواحدةُ منها تعادلُ عندي في بعض الأحيان تأليفَ كتاب، ربّما يكون تأليفُ كتابٍ أسهل من تأليف قصّة أو كتابتها، فهي إذن لا تُتاح لي إلا في أوقات الأزمات.
وهذه المجموعة القصصيّة الأولى التي أقدّمها للقرّاء هي جزء ممّا كتبتُه في أوقات متفرّقة، والكثير منه كاد أن يُفقد أو فُقِد، ليُشاركني القارئ في نظرتي إلى الأشياء عسى أنْ تروقَ له.
