إن شعر أي أمة هو نتاج عواطفها وعقولها، وعصارة مزاجها النفسي، وطابع روحها الوجداني، وخلاصة مجهودها العقلي، وهو يرتبط بها أرضًا وسماءًا، وقيمًا وتقاليدًا، وأحداثًا ومجتمعًا. والشعر لدى أمتنا ديوان أيامها، وسجل أخبارها، وقد رفده الإسلام بقيم جليلة وآليات جميلة، مخرجًا له من كونه أداة تسلية، أو وسيلة طرب، أو طريقًا لتحقيق مآرب، جاعلًا مبدعيه فرسانًا كماة حماة في ميدان المواجهة مع الآخر المعتدي.
والشعر الإسلامي يعيش دائمًا منتصرًا للحق المظلوم، أما الباطل المهزوم مقاتلًا باللسان والحرف، في الوقت الذي يقاتل فيه غيره بالسنان والسيوف، حتى يعلو الحق وينتصر العدل وتكون عاقبة الظلم إلى خسران وزوال. تتحقق أهداف هذا الكتاب عبر استنطاق النص الشعري إبان عصر الأيوبين، للدلالة على حال القدس الشريف– مكانًا وإنسانًا– أثناء الاحتلال الصليبي الغاشم لها، وقبل التحرير الإسلامي الحضاري لها وبعده، مفسرًا أسباب سقوطها، وموضحًا عوامل تحريرها، ومقدمًا أسباب إقدام وتفاؤل من شأنها أن تبث روح الأمل في نفوس أبناء أمتنا في الواقع الدامي الحزين الذي نعيشه.
إن في هذا الكتاب جهدًا طيبًا مخلصًا، وتصويرًا فنيًا محلقًا لماضينا، وتوقًا لأن يتواصل عالمنا المعاصر معه، فتخفف من الرؤى المفزعة التي تحاصرنا، ومن إحباطتنا المروعة، وهزائمنا المتكررة التي تسد علينا الأفق، في هذا الحاضر الدامع والحالك.
