الحمل هو ثمرة الحياة الزوجية، التي أرادها الله تعالى لجميع مخلوقاته الحية، وعلى الأخص المخلوقات البشرية. فعن طريق الزواج والحمل، تتوالد أفواج عديدة من الأطفال. وهكذا تتأمن استمرارية الحياة البشرية بفعل الإرادة الإلهية.
ولا شك بأن مجيء الطفل، يبعث الفرح والسرور والمحبة لدى الأهل والأقارب، وخاصة الأم والأب، لذا من الضروري جداً، أن يأتي هذا الطفل صحيح البنية كامل النشاط، وكذلك من الضروري، أن تبقى الأم قبل الولادة وأثناءها وبعدها بصحة جيدة، لتؤمن لهذا الطفل جميع مقومات الحياة الطبيعية، ولتستعد أيضاً لإنجاب مولود جديد، وهي على أحسن حال من الصحة والسرور.. وكم تتضاعف هذه الفرحة، إذا استطاع الزوجان تحديد جنس الجنين كما يرغبان، قبل حصول الحمل.
من المؤكد أن حدوث الحمل وتحديد جنس الجنين أمران خاضعان لمشيئة الله تعالى وإرادته، كما جاء في قوله جل وعلا: "لله ملك السموات والأرض يخلق ما يشاء يهب لمن يشاء إنثاً ويهب لمن يشار الذكور، أو يزوجهم ذكراناً وإنثاً، ويجعل من يشاء عقيماً إنه عليم قدير".
يقوم هذا الكتاب على الأخذ بالأسباب امتنثالاً لأمر العزيز الحكيم ونبيه المصطفى صلى الله عليه وسلم، كما هو حال المريض الذي يستشير الطبيب ويتناول الدواء معتقداً يقيناً بأن الله تعالى هو الشافي، وما الدواء ولا الطبيب إلا سببان لا يغنيان عنه من المسبب شيئاً، لذا فإن ما ورد في هذا الكتاب هو حصيلة الحقائق العلمية والأبحاث التي جرت على مر العصور وأحدث إحصاءاتها الموثقة.
ومن هذا المنطلق تم التطرق إلى قصة تنظيم الحمل من أولها (لا بل من قبل أولها) إلى آخرها، مع كل ما يتعلق بالحامل وبالجنين على السواء، معتمدين على آخر ما توصل إليه العلم الحديث، بشأن هذا الموضوع الذي هو من أهم المواضيع التي تتعلق بالإنسان. أما الأسلوب المعتمد، فهو أسلوب مبسط، يسهل فهمه من قبل الجميع، ويعتمد على أحدث النظريات العلمية. إن القصد من هذا الكتاب، هو نشر ثقافة صحية، تعنى بموضوع إنساني مهم، خصوصاً لجهة التحديد المسبق للجنين.
