ليس هذا كتاباً في اللغة، ولا في فقه اللغة ولا في علم اللغة، وإنما هو كتاب في فلسفة اللغة، وفي مسألة من مسائلها الأساسية التي اصطلح عليها بـ"المنعطف اللغوي" The linguistic turn. فماذا يعني المنعطف اللغوي؟ وما هي المشكلة التي يطرحها في فلسفة اللغة؟ وما قيمته وأهميته في تاريخ الفلسفة المعاصرة؟ إن الإجابة على هذه الأسئلة، هي التي تشكل موضوع هذا الكتاب.
أول من استعمل عبارة "المنعطف اللغوي" أو اللساني هو الفيلسوف الوضعي الحديد غوستاف برغمان عام 1953, ثم انتشرت العبارة وذاعت، عندما استعملها الفيلسوف الأمريكي ريتشارد رورتي، عنواناً لمجموع النصوص التي جمعها وكتب لها مقدمة نشرت عام 1967.
لقد توجهت الفلسفة في القرن العشرين نحو اللغة، بل أصبحت فلسفة لغوية، ذلك ما تدل عليه عبارة "المنعطف اللغوي". على أن الأمر لا يقتصر على الفلسفة التحليلية أو الأنجلوسكسونية كما هو شائع، وإنما أصاب كذلك الفلسفة الأوروبية القارية، بتياراتها المختلفة وخاصة التيار التأويلي والتيار البنيوي.
وعليه، فإن التحول نحو اللغة واتخاذها موضوعاً للفلسفة، لم يأخذ صيغة واحدة، كما يصوره أنصار الفلسفة التحليلية ومنهم صاحب عبارة المنعطف اللغوي، وإنما أخذ في الحقيقة صوراً متعددة.
وهو ما حاول تحليليه ونقده الدكتور "الزواوي بغوره" في هذا الكتاب متبعاً خطة منهجية ترتكز على قيامه بتقسيم مادته إلى تسعة فصول مفرداً الفصول الثلاثة الأولى لمناقشة مسألة اللغة في تاريخ الفلسفة، مؤكداً على أن الفلسفة قد اهتمت بالغة عبر تاريخها. وإنها كانت موضوعاً للنظر الفلسفي، لأن فلسفة اللغة قد تساعد على توسيع وتعميق ما أشار إليه الفلاسفة من أفكار وآراء حول اللغة.
أما بقية فصول الكتاب، فكانت فصولاً نقدية للمنعطف المنطقي، وبتعبير آخر فلقد اتخذ هذا الكتاب من الفلاسفة الذين درستهم سنداً لطرح موضوع الفلسفة واللغة ومناقشته، فكان أرسطو وابن رشد دليلاً على قدم مباحث فلسفة اللغة ضد مزاعم الفلسفة اللغوية، واتخذ من بوبر دليلاً لنقد التوجه التحليلي والوضعي للغة، ومن ريكور مؤشراً لنقد نزعة التأويل اللامتناهي والطرح الميتافيزيقي الذي رفع اللغة إلى مستوى الفلسفة الأولى، ووظف كاسيرو وشومسكي وفوكو بورديو في نقد النزعة البنية، وحاول في الفصل الأخير تحليل قضايا فلسفة اللغة من منظور لغوي يعتمد على الطرح الوظيفي والتكويني والبيني.
