يتحدث الكاتب في هذا الكتاب عن محارب بشن أقسى حرب في العالم ضد نشاط الضعف التي يعاني منها في شخصيته، ولا يدَّعي الكاتب بأنه كتب هذا الكتاب بمفرده، بل كتبه برفقة الأستاذ عارف، والأستاذ عارف هذا شاب دفعته الأزمة النفسية التي يعيشها إلى حالة البحث عن معنى لحياته وهذا ما دفعة إلى الكاتب ليلتقي به ويتحدث معه.
ولهذا يقول الكاتب "لا أقول أتحدث في هذا الكتاب بل نتحدث، لأنني والأستاذ عارف كتبنا هذا الكتاب سوية".
"أبطال الكتاب" يبني هذا الكتاب موضوعه على الناس الذين يصارعون في هذه الحياة لكي يعيشوا ذاتهم، وتم تقديم هذا الموضوع من خلال الحوار بين الكاتب دوغان جوجلّ أوغلو ومعلم مدرسة يدعى عارف أوكورر.
يتعرف الكاتب خلال إحدى الندوات التي كان يقيمها على السيد عارف، يبدأ السيد عارف حديثه فيقول إنه يعيش حالة ضياع أي أنه يشعر بالضياع من خلال ممارسة مهنة التعليم فيفهم الكاتب أن المشكلة التي يعاني المعلم منها ليست بسيطة إلى هذه الدرجة ويتفق معه على الإلتقاء خلال فترات محددة، فيتحدثان خلال اللقاء الأول عن "بحث الفرد عن معنى لحياته".
ويتقدم الكاتب خطوة خطوة من مشكلة السيد عارف الذي يستعيد ثقته بنفسه ويقترب، شيئاً فشيئاً، من شخصية المحارب.
