تتخذ هذه الدراسة النص الشعري مجالا للدراسة النحوية لما لارتباط النحو بالنصوص من الأهمية، فالدراسات النحوية للنصوص تتميز عن غيرها بانها تتجاوز النظرية إلى التطبيق وتبتعد عن الجفاف الذي توصف به الدراسات النحوية النظرية ومما يميز الدراسات النحوية الدلالية انها لا تنظر إلى النظام النحوي على انه نظام تركيبي افتراضي، ولكن على انه نظام حي فعال في النصوص، مرتبط ارتباطا وثيقا بمعانيها ودلالاتها، وهو حينئذ لا يكون مقصودا بالدرس لذاته بل يكون وسيلة لبلوغ الدلالة وفهم النصوص.
وتعد الدراسات النحوية الدلالية نموذجا مطلوبا للتكامل بين العلوم اللغوية من نحو وبلاغة وأدب، فمن شان هذا ان يوسع آفاق النحو ويزيد من تطوره ويعينه على القيام بمهمته.
