غرت وسائل التواصل الإجتماعي حياتنا بشكل كبير، وأصبحت عالماً قائماً بحدّ ذاته، نلتقي فيه بأشخاص من بلادٍ وثقافاتٍ مختلفة، لا نعرفهم عن قرب في أغلب الأحيان، لكننا نتبادل معهم الحديث والمعلومات الشخصيّة، وأصبح لكل شخص تقريباً سلسلة من الأصدقاء الإفتراضييّن؛ وقد أتاحت هذه الوسائل للناس الفرصة لبناء الكثير من العلاقات فيما بينهم في أطر مختلفة منها العائلة ومنها ما هو في مجال العمل، وما هو بين ممارسي الهوايات المختلفة، بل أصبح البعض يعتمدها لبناء علاقات رومنسيّة، وللتعارف والزواج، وأصبحت الصلة الإلكترونيّة بين الناس بديلة عن الزيارات واللقاءات على أرض الواقع.
باختصارٌ، أدت هذه الوسائل إلى إحداث تغييراتٍ هائلةٍ في ثقافتنا، وأثرت على طرائق تفكيرنا وعلى منظومة قيمنا، وانتقلت بنا من العيش في عالمنا الواقعيّ إلى العيش في عالم إفتراضيّ يظلّ موجوداً حتّى بعد أن نغلق حواسيبنا.
ولأنّ الأدب هو مرآة العصر، والأديب هو الضّمير المعبّر عن أفكار شعبه وعن ثقافته وهواجسه وأحلامه، يعكس قضاياه ويُعنى بشؤونه، فإنّه من الغباء أن نعتقد بألا يتأثّر الأدب بكل هذه التغييرات الّتي فرضتها وسائل التواصل الإجتماعيّ على حياتنا كأفراد وكمجتمعات.
وعليه فقد شكلت وسائل التواصل الإجتماعيّ، بإختلاف أنواعها، موضوعاً للآداب وغايةُ له، وأصبح التراكم الكمّيّ الكبير للنصوص، التي تناولت هذه الوسائل، ظاهرةُ أدبيّةً معاصرةً جديرةٌ بالبحث والدراسة والأرشفة.
لذلك، فقد جاء هذا الكتاب ليلقي الضوء على هذه الظاهرة بأبعادها المختلفة من ناحية، وليكون أرشيفاً أوّلياً للنصوص الأدبيّة من ناحيةٍ أخرى.
