كتبت قصص المجموعة من 2005 م الي 2009 م كما أوضح الكاتب. ويقدم المؤلف "حسن البطران" بخطاب أدبي مغاير فن القصة القصيرة جداً بمشهد عميق ومفارقة واعية وتنتمي قصصه للعالم الواقعي في عبارات مركزة قصيرة تمتاز بحدة الطرح والرؤية النقدية للأحوال فمثلاً قصة رياضة يقول فيها الكاتب "بعد رياضةٍ عنيفةٍ في تلك الليلةِ انتهَى من حمَّامـِّهِ السَّاخنِ ، وقبل خُروجِهِ من الحَماَّم بحثَ عن منشفتهِ المعلَّقةِ، لم يجدْها. دَلفَ من الحمامِ فوجدَها مُبللَّةً، فعادَ لمِمُارسةِ رياضَتِهِ.!"" لنجد غرابة رد الفعل هنا غريب لكنه يجعلنا نفتح أبواب التأمل. كذلك قصة "رائحة البصل" يقول فيها: "دخلَ عليها وهي تُقطِّعُ البصلَ.. رأتهُ وقطَعتْ يدَها، تَلوَّنَ البصلُ بدَمِهَا..! أهدتهُ دَمَها وأهداها قشورَ البصلِ.!! وعدَها بشراءِ سِكِّينٍ بلاستيكية." هكذا يضعنا أمام رد فعل صادم بالمفارقة بين الذي يعطي والذي لا يقدر العطاء".
