إن التعاطي مع نص الوحي ظل منذ نزوله محفوفا بوعي شديد لدى الصحابة رضي الله عنهم بخصوصيته وتعاليه، رغم نزوله بلسان عربي مبين ووفق سنن العرب في كلامها، إلا أن معرفة قصد المتكلم فيه، والتي عليها مدار الفهم، بقيت علامة على التوقي والحذر، دفعت بكثير من العلماء أن يتحدثوا عن قصد الكلام عوضا عن قصد المتكلم، ودفعت آخرين على مر العصور إلى التهيب من درس التفسير جملة وتفصيلا جريا على مذهب أبي بكر رضي الله القائل:”أي أرض تقلني وأي سماء تظلني إذا قلت في كتاب الله ما لم أعلم”.
لكن هذا المذهب رغم اشتهاره، لم يمنع من تفسير القرآن الكريم بالتأويلات الفاسدة التي تلوى بها أعناق النصوص لخدمة الأغراض المذهبية والسياسية والاجتماعية والاقتصادية وغير ذلك، مما يدخل في جملة ما نسميه بآفة “التقويل”.
والتقويل ضرب من التقصيد، والتَّقَوُّل والتَّقْوِيل عبارة عن كذب تأويلي مخصوص، وهو ضرب من الاختلاق، ومعنى تَقَوَّل عن فلان أو قَوَّل فلانا أي قال عنه أنه قال شيئا ولم يكن قاله.
في هذا الكتاب يعالج الباحث قضية انزلاق المناهج الحداثية ووقوع أصحابها (أركون – آمنة ودود – نصر حامد أبو زيد) تحت إسار الدوافع الذاتية الخاصة والارتباطات الاجتماعية والإيديولوجية التي تدفع في اتجاه الانقضاض على النص وتحميله أطنانا من الرغبات “المقنعة”، وقوافل من الشهوات التأويلية من أجل خلق حالة من الرضى الموهوم والإشباع المزعوم في أن “التأويل” قد حصل القدر اللازم من الفهم والانسجام مع “النص” ومع أجزاء العالم من حولنا. وليس هذا الذي تقدمه هذه المناهج في الحقيقة سوى خداع إدراكي يمارس سلطته على المؤول كما يمارس السراب سلطته على الظمآن في استدراجه إلى مستودع الماء الكاذب.
