تحاول هذه الدراسة أن تقدم الخلفية الحضارية لأحداث الإنجيل، فبناءً على اكتشافات علماء اللسانيات والاجتماع، فلا بد من إضافة بعض المعلومات الحضارية التي كانت متوفرة لجمهور السيد المسيح والتي يجهلها العديد من الناس اليوم. لذلك يضيف هذا الكتاب سفراً من أسفار الإنجيل إضافة غلى مقالات تعالج مواضيع ذات أهمية كبيرة ومنها مفهوم الوحي في الإنجيل والتوراة وكتب الأنبياء "فالحواري بطرس يشرح بوضوح مفهوم الوحي في الكتاب المقدسي حين يقول في رسالته الثانية: "لأن ما من بنوءة على الإطلاق جاءت بإرادة إنسان، بل تكلم أناس الله مسوقين (منقادين) من روح الله".
أيضاً يتطرق الكتاب إن مفهوم الوحي الإسلام ويتضمن ثلاثة أشكال من تنزيل الوحي يشير إليها القرآن الكريم أما تعريفه حسب ما جاء في لسان العرب "أنه الإشارة والكتابة والرسالة والإلهام والكلام الخفي وكل ما ألقيته إلى غيرك".
يتضمن الكتاب ثمانية وعشرون فصلاً تقدم حقائق هامة حول التحريف الذي أصاب الإنجيل المقدس، يقول الكاتب "إن الكتاب المقدس خليط من الحقائق والأباطيل، قد صيغت عبر مراحل زمنية متتابعة".
الهام في هذا الكتاب أنه يحتوي على صور لمخطوطات التوراة والزبور والإنجيل وهي مخطوطات يونانية منها مثلاً المخطوطة اليونانية بـ 52 (العام 125م)، وهي جزء من الإنجيل، سفر يوحنا، على ورق البردي توجه فيها الآيات 31-18-33-37-38، موجود في مكتبة جون رايلانز في إنجلترا. يعود إلى العام 125 تقريباً.
يتطرق الكتاب أيضاً إلى علاقة السيد المسيح بالله، ومذاهب اليهود وجماعاتهم على عهد سيدنا المسيح وأتباعه وحواريوه، وسيرة المسيح حسب سجله الحواري متى، والرفيق مرقس، ولوقا.
كتاب هام، وموسوعة دينية في أصل الديانة المسيحية، تتكلم عن المعنى الصحيح لإنجيل المسيح عليه السلام.
