لبرنامج "corel draw" فضل كبير من إلهام الفنانين المبتدئين كي يصبحوا رسامين محترفين وعلى أرضية الحماس الكبير لاستخدامه، بالإضافة إلى تجمعات مستخدميه والنشرات، اصبح هذا البرنامج ومنتجات كورل الأخرى تتمتع بنجاح كبير واستثنائي في سوق برامج الجرافيك ضمن بيئة ويندوز.
هذا الكتاب لا يهدف إلى تعليمك corel draw أو corel photo paint إنما هدفه التقنيات أي استخدام البرامج لإنتاج تصاميم ورسوم جذابة بأسلوب مشروع العمل. والتقنيات التي يغطيها هذا الكتاب تم تطبيقها باستخدام الإصدار السادس من حزمة "كورل" لكن معظم التصاميم والرسومات التي أنتجت باستخدام " DRAW" يمكن إعادة تطبيقها باستخدام أي إصدار سابق. بينما يتعلق بـ corel photo ، وهو إضافة حديثة، ومع بعض الاسثناءات، فإن التقنيات هنا يمكن تطبيقها فقط عبر الإصدارين 5 و6 وفي حال كون التطبيق يعتمد كلياً على ميزات متوفرة فقط في الإصدار الراهن في corel draw فسيتم التنبيه إلى ذلك في بداية مشروع العمل. وفي معظم الحالات يمكن معالجة هذا الأمر بالالتفاف حوله، خصوصاً فيما يتعلق بتقنية corel draw، فمثلاً ميزة Power clip التي تستعمل كثيراً في تطبيقات هذا الكتاب، أصبحت متوفرة ابتداءً في الإصدار. 5 وإذا كنت ما زلت مستخدماً للإصدار 3 أو 4 يمكنك الحصول على نفس تأثير المميزة المذكورة آنفاً بواسطة إعادة تحرير وتشكيل حدود الشكل ومطابقتها مع حدود الشكل الناتج عن استخدام ميزة Power Clip.
