في هذا الكتاب يتناول المؤلف "احمد إبراهيم عامر" مفهوم الرجولة الذى رآه بعيداً فى أيامنا هذه عن مفهومه الصلى والحقيقى.
فتناوله من وجوه عدة كل واحد منها فى فصل مستقبل. فيبدأ بالرجل والنفس البشرية التى تتنوع بين نفس لوامة وأمارة بالسوء وراضية ومطمئنه وقانطة ومريضة. أما عن الجانب الدينى مقد تناوله المؤلف فى الفصل الثانى من الكتاب عرض فيه تكاليف الدين على الرجل بصورة عامة بين المقصد الثانى من الكتاب عرض فيه تكاليف الدين على الرجل بصورة عامة تبين المقصد منها دون إطالة أما الرجل والحياة فى الفصل الثالث فقد قصد به تاثيره ودروه على مر التاريخ ذاكراً أمثلة لهذا مع تعرضه لتأثير تطور الحياة عليه وعلى نمط حياته وعلاقاته، وكذلك فعل فى الفصل الرابع والخامس حين نبين العلاقة بين الرجل والتعليم والعلم وما يجب عليه فى كل منهما.
أما من العلاقة بين لارجل وشريكته فى الحياة من الجنس الآخر فقد خضها المؤلف بفصل يوضح الرجل مع الزوجة ومالها من حقوق عليه، كما خصص فصلاً للجنس فى حياة الرجل مناقشاً فيه أهميته ومراحل ممارسته والتعامل معه بأمانه يستكمل الكتاب فصوله فى الرجل والأبناء والكلمة والعقل و القلب بنفس الطريقة السهلة البسيطة التى إتبعها المؤلف فى جميع فصول الكتاب، المحافظة دائما على النهج الإسلامى وتعاليم الدين الإسلامي فى كافة تفاصيلها.
