الأخلاق الحسنة دلالة إيمان الفرد والمجتمع، والأخلاق السيئة دلالة كفر ونفاق وتجعل الحياة مليئة بالأحقاد التي تورث الضعف والفرقة والذل والهوان والهزيمة، لذا لابد من جهاد النفس وترويضها للوصول إلى أفضل الأخلاق. قالوا: "سوس الأمم الأخلاق، قرضة تأكل الخشب"، لذلك لما ارتفعت الأخلاق في جيل الصحابة ملكوا الدنيا ورضي الله عنهم في الآخرة وأعلم بعضهم برضاه عنهم في الدنيا.
لذلك أيها الأحباب: أحببت أن يذكر بعضنا بعضاً بالأخلاق فنتكلم عن الأخلاق من حيث: علاقتها بالرسالات، وعلاقتها بالعبادات، وعن معنى الأخلاق، وعلاقتها بالتغير والثبات، وعن فضلها، وعن أفضل الناس خلقاً.. ثم نتحدث عن الصدق: معناه وأنواعه وفضله، والأسباب التي تبعد الناس عنه، ومعرفة أن النجاة في الصدق، والكذب: خطره وأسبابه وكيفية علاجه، والكلمة وخطرها فهي ربما ترفع صاحبها وربما تحط به في النار، ثم الحديث عن الأمانة: معناها، وأنواعها، وخطورة عدم ردها، وأمانات غير المال، والوفاء بالعهد باعتباره صفة من صفات الإيمان، وجزاء الموفين به، وعقوبة الغادرين، ثم الحديث عن الحلم: معناه، وأهميته، وفضله، وأثره على الآخرين، ثم الحديث عن الغضب: معناه، ونوعه، وكيفية علاجه، والتدرج في علاجه إذا وقع، ودرجات الناس فيه، والأسباب التي توقع الناس فيه وعلاجها، ثم الحديث عن الغيبة: معناها، وحكمها، وأسبابها، وعلاجها، ثم الحديث عن النميمة: معناها، وأثرها، وأسبابها، وعلاجها، ثم الحديث عن الأخوة: أنواعها، وعلاماتها، وسببها، في النصر والهزيمة.. ثم كان الحديث عن الصديق وأثره، ثم عن الإخلاص، والرياء، ثم ختمنا الموضوع بالوقت والحرص عليه لأنه الحياة.
