تسعى هذه الدراسة إلى المقارنة ما بين اليهودية والمسيحية والإسلام في موضوع مسائل الأحوال الشخصية وهي (الزواج، الطلاق، النفقة، الحضانة، الميراث) وقد اعتمد المؤلف في هذه الدراسة على مصادر كل ديانة والمراجع التي تناولت هذا الموضوع عندهم، وحاول عدم الدخول في إختلافات المذاهب واكتفى بالمجمع عليه ولا سيما عند الحديث عن هذا الموضوع في الإسلام إلا أن الباحث تحدث عن أحد فرق اليهود وهم السامريون وذلك لوجود إختلافات كبيرة وواضحة عن باقي طوائف اليهود وقد رتب الباحث هذه الأطروحة حسب المنهج التاريخي فبدأ باليهود ثم بالمسيحية ثم بالإسلام حسب الأقدم.
