تناول هذا المؤلف موضوعات التخطيط في تسلسل منطقي. فبعد أن قدم بفصل ضروري عن التنمية السياحية باعتبارها وسيلة للتنمية الاقتصادية، عالج الموضوعات التي تتعلق بهذه النوعية من التخطيط التخصصي ثم تناول بعد ذلك ما يسمى بالخطة السياحية في مصر للوقوف على خط التفكير الحاكم للتخطيط السياحي المصري. ومع ذلك فلم يتناول المؤلف كل موضوعات التخطيط. وإنما مازالت هناك موضوعات أخرى تتطلب الدراسة والمعالجة، وهو أمر نرجو أن نتصدى له، في فترة قريبة بإذن الله ونحب ان نسترعى النظر هنا إلى ثلاثة أمور الأول: أنه قد يكون هناك تدخلا في دراسة كل موضوعات التنمية السياحية والتخطيط السياحي، ومن ثم فإننا سنحاول عرض الموضوعات من وجهة النظر التخطيطية، مع الإشارة إلى موضوعات التنمية السياحية كلما وجدنا أهمية لذلك، الثاني: أن التخطيط السياحي هو علم ما يزال يخطو خطواته الأولى، فلم يتجاوز عمره الثلاثين عاماً تقريباً ولذا فإننا سنشير كلما وجدنا ضرورة لذلك، إلى الأدوات المستخدمة في التخطيط الاقتصادي الذي رسخت قواعده تماماً في الوقت الحاضر، بعد أن بلغ من العمر مائة عام أو يزيد، الثالث: أننا سنحيل، إذا اقتضى الأمر على المفاهيم التي احتواها مؤلفي الأول والثاني من سلسلة الدراسات السياحية (نظرية السياحة واقتصاديات السياحة) تجنباً للتكرار والتزاما بمنهجية العمل البحثي.
