بدأت فكرة الكتاب بما لاحظته والإخوة المربون من حاجة النشء إلى دروس منظمة في التربية الإسلامية خارج مناهج وزارات المعارف والتعليم، ولقد اعتنيت بما نعيشه وتعيشه الأمة؛ فكتبت فيه؛ وفيما يحتاجه الصغير والكبير من صباحه إلى مسائه في منزله ومجلسه ومسجده وسوقه وطريقه ومع والديه وجيرانه وأصحابه وزيارته وعيادته وعيده ولباس زينته وفي حله وترحاله وفي مدرسته وجامعته ومع معلمه وشيخه وفي صحته وسقمه ومع الأحياء والأموات ومع النساء وذوي الأرحام وما حل من الغناء أو حرم، مع التوصية بمداومة الدعاء والذكر والتحصّن بالرقية الشرعية، ومن أنّ علاج ضعف الأمة المفككة الوحدة والجهاد وإعلاء كلمة الله تعالى رغم تكالب الأمم علينا، ورغم التعايش خارج دائرة حكم الله تعالى، ثم إن هناك موضوعات تعرض للمسلم من حين لآخر أدخلتها في الكتاب إستكمالاً للفائدة.
وجاءت معظم أبواب هذا الكتاب من واقع الحياة ومن دوافعها، ومن معترك التجربة، حيث قضيت أكثر من نصف قرن في ميدان العلم والتعليم ومصارعة المرض والرقية والإغتراب والسفر وغيرها، فجاءت الكتابة واقعية وصادقة.
لا شك أن هناك معلومات أخرى كثيرة يمكن أن تضاف إلى فقرات كل بحث، أو موضوعات يمكن أن تضاف إلى الكتاب، ولعل الله تعالى أن يمدنا أو يمد غيرنا بمزيد من الطاقة والعلم لإستدراك ذلك، كما قد يجد القارئ معلومة مكررة في بحثين أو أكثر؛ كما يحدث في الزيارة والمجالس والبيوت، أو في الدعاء والرقية، أو في الدعاء والمرض والموت والمصيبة والجنازة، فليفترض القارئ والحالة هذه أن قارئاً ما قد تناول موضوعاً ما على حدة ولم يتناول الموضوع الآخر فيجد فيه بغيته مما يلزم من المعاني.
