نتيجة التقدم الهائل في تكنولوجيا الأتصال والمواصلات ظهر مفهوم "الكوكبية" Global ويتخلص في أنه لم يعد للبعد الجغرافي تأثير في عزل الدول عن بعضها البعض وأصبح العلم كوحدة صغيرة متشابكة الأطراف.
ولما كانت مناهج التعليم هي وسيلة لإعداد الفرد لمواجهة بيئته, وحل مشكلاتها والإسهام في تطويرها فإنه ينبغي إعادة النظر إلي المناهج الحالية في ضوء بيئة الإنسان من المحلية إلي العالمية, وهذا ما تدعو إليه التربية الكوكبية Global Education.
وهذا ينطبق علي جميع المناهج وخاصة مناهج الرياضيات لما لها من أهمية كبري في إعداد الفرد, وأعتماد معظم المناهج علي أساليب رياضياتيه في معالجتها لموضوعاتها, وبالتالي بدأت الدعوة إلي أقتراح مناهج للرياضيات, وتعليمها في ضوء مفهوم الكوكبية, غير أن الرؤية لمضمون هذه المناهج, ولأساليب تعليمها لم تتبلور بعد عند أصحاب هذا الأتجاه.
ونأمل أن يساهم هذا الكتاب في تنمية قدرات القائمين علي تدريس المعاصرة والرياضيات في مختلف مراحل التعليم علي أستخدام مختلف أساليب التدريس المرتبطة بتكنولوجيا التعليم داخل فصولهم ومع طلابهم, للوصول إلي ما نصبو إليه من رفع كفاءة النظام التعليمي والوصول إلي العالمية من أجل مستقبل أفضل لأبنائنا الطلاب ولبلادنا الحبيبة مصر.
