يشكل الدخول إلى معهد الدروس القضائية الهدف الذي يطمح الكثيرون من خريجي كليات الحقوق في لبنان إلى الوصول إليه. لأجل ذلك يأتي كتاب "الطريق إلى معهد الدروس القضائية" لمؤلفه القاضي "محمد مرعي صعب" ليجيب عن كثيرٍ من التساؤلات التي تبرز أمام أصحاب هذا الطموح ذلك أن منهجية حل المسائل التطبيقية، وكذلك منهجية البحث القانوني تستلزم الكثر من الجهد والمعاناة أثناء التحضير لمباراة الدخول إلى معهد الدروس القضائية. من هنا تأتي أهمية هذا الكتاب بجزئيه الأول والثاني ليساعد الطالب على الإطلاع على موقف الإجتهاد الحديث من بعص المسائل الخلافية وفي ذلك تسهيل لمهمة الطالب في البحث من ناحية، كما وأنارته حول بعض النقاط والمسائل التي من الممكن أن تطرح من قبل اللجنة الفاحصة، وخصوصاً أنها تنطلق في بعض الأحيان في تركيب المسألة موضوع الإمتحان، من وقائع بعض الدعاوى المطروحة، أو التي طرحت على القضاء، والتي كانت موضوع بحث أمام المحاكم، وصدر فيها أحكام قضائية.
هذا، وتتوزع خطة الدراسة في الجزء الأول في أربعة فصول هي؛ الفصل الأول: منهجية حل المسائل والأبحاث، الفصل الثاني: مسائل تطبيقية، الفصل الثالث: أسئلة وأبحاث قانونية، الفصل الرابع: مسائل إجتهادية.
أما خطة الدراسة في الجزء الثاني فتأتي في فصلين؛ الفصل الأول: مخصص لاستعراض المسائل التي طُرحت في المباريات المخصصة للدخول إلى سلك القضاء العدلي في العامين (2009 و 2010) مع عرض مفصل للحل القانوني المقترح لها. أما الفصل الثاني: فخصص لاستعراض بعض النقاط التي تطرق إليها الإجتهاد الحديث للمحاكم اللبنانية، والتي اتخذ فيها موقفاً أو التي هي محور تجاذب في الإجتهاد. وأخيراً (ملحق): قانون تنظيم القضاء العدلي مرسوم إشتراعي رقم (150) تاريخ (16/9/1983).
